       | The Joy of Walking We live in one of the most beautiful counties for country walking. What a thrill it is to walk along the spectacular Cornish coastal footpaths with the freedom to walk at your own pace and enjoy the unique and often breathtaking scenery. It is wonderful to experience the wonderful outdoor environment in all it's moods through the seasons. At this time of year, as we prepare for a welcome spring with all the many and varied colours, as well as the fragrances of wild flowers, it is a time to consider the benefits of walking not just for our spirits but also for our health. Walking is known to make you feel good as it helps to shake off the winter blues, it gives you more energy, and helps you sleep better. It also helps to reduce stress as well as keeping your heart strong and reducing your blood pressure. And for many of us, me included, it is helpful in managing our weight. There are other benefits of walking you might want to consider: it's a safe way to health and fitness, a chance to meet people and make new friends, almost everyone can do it, you can do it anywhere and anytime, you don't neeed any equipment apart from comfortable walking shoes, there's very little risk of injury, it shouldn't hurt, you can start slowly and build up gently and it's free and easy. I have made it my purpose to help walkers (hikers, ramblers, backpackers, amblers, saunterers, rangers, rovers, strollers, footsloggers, marchers, footpads, trekkers, toddlers, shufflers and dawdlers) enjoy their pastime without the aches and pains which can occasionally upset their wonderful excursions into the beautiful Cornish countryside. If you, or a friend, are suffering at the moment and would like help to get back to walking comfortably please call for an appointment on 01326 240078 |
